alix

alix is the co-founder of WHSAH, a nonbinary trans person, part aspirational nomad, part ornamental hermit, fallen academic, DIY separatist, Zotero evangelist, heliotropic, overstimulated, opinionated, has a funny french accent, is learning to be more gentle, is surrounded by amazing people, likes to help, doesn’t sleep enough, doesn’t eat enough, likes blueberries, likes mint tea, is currently and protractedly obsessed with collecting dangerous people, community driven research, frugal science, pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics, endocrinology, biochemistry, unfashionable machine learning and Bayesian modeling, ab initio methods in biopharmaceutics and physical chemistry, and the thermodynamics and statistical mechanics of strange and improbable concoctions.

uriel

uriel is just a guy whose transition led to an intense interest into trans-related medicine. They’re invested in activism, working at improving trans healthcare in France (including training doctors, facilitating events, and writing stuff). Beside endocrinology, their interests include the meta-scientific and political aspects of trans/disabled/fat/public health. They tend to be practical[/clinical]-oriented. You can read them in French here.

Ari

Ari (they/them) is a non-binary trans person from the United States, currently completing the final year of their PhD. Their professional research focuses on the molecular biology of HIV, although they come from a training background in reproductive biology and synthetic biology. Unprofessionally, they have an interest in DIY harm reduction and creating fun and accessible resources to educate other trans people about the biology of transition. Outside of research they enjoy video games, singing in a gay choir, platform shoes, and clowncore fashion.

« »

« » (he/her or she/him) is a trans person living in Great Britain. She has a strong vendetta against misinformation about the legality of hormones. His goal is for every trans person to be on a half-decent HRT regimen (who wants to be), and for everyone in GB to be aware that the risks of DIYing are not all they’re cracked up to be.

ATM

ATM (they/them) is a nonbinary trans person based in the north of England. Shortly after beginning their own medical transition they began doing harm reduction in their local area. They share information in whatever physical space they inhabit. They have a penchant for zines and a personal collection of over 500.

esmeralda

esmeralda (she/they/it) is a non-binary trans woman. Since beginning its gender transition by DIY methods, it has closely followed the literature on the biology and social aspects of this process and made efforts to share knowledge with its local community and promote trans welfare in its professional circles. They are described by themself as a “failed mathematician” — owing to their doctorate work in algebraic geometry — and by others as both a “very famous researcher in probabilistic modelling” and a “very dangerous woman”. She lives in Scotland, but can often be found traveling the world, acquainting herself with queer communities through their language, music, and shared experiences.

Emily

Emily (she/her) is a trans woman living in the bay area working in organic chemistry and analytical chemistry. In 2025, she initially researched and wrote about nonstandard transition topics and in mid 2026 self-published a paper detailing an alternative synthesis method for the estradiol prodrug EC508. She currently runs Artemis Analytical, a harm reduction lab using HPLC and FTIR to verify the identity and concentration of DIY HRT.
