WHSAH is a global trans collective dedicated to furthering the science and medicine of trans health, both within and outside of traditional academic spaces. We serve as a venue for fostering connections among trans people engaged in liberatory harm reduction around the world, amplifying both the needs and the knowledge of the DIY community in spaces of scientific discourse. We also work to improve the communication and practice of science within the trans community itself, allowing trans people to act as leaders and visionaries of our own healthcare. Indirectly, our work also serves to benefit other groups that are marginalized within the medical-industrial complex or who share healthcare needs with the trans community.

There is no right or wrong way to pronounce WHSAH.
In no particular order, here’s some suggestions by our authors:

WHSAH is funded entirely by contributions of its members and donations of trans people. As a non-profit, all of us are volunteers; the funding is used to pay for administrative efforts, website and hosting costs. This is one step to ensuring that our incentives are aligned with the needs of trans people.

This website is a publication of WHSAH, a non-profit association according to Art. 60 ff. of the Swiss Civil Code seated in Zürich. Its purpose is to promote interdisciplinary research and science pertaining to trans people, to further the inclusion and acceptance of trans people in society, and to participate in political and societal discourse promoting the interests and needs of trans people.
